WIP: Italeri Ferrari 288 GTO

Yet another one that wasn't documented properly so just a series of shots at different stages.
This is the Italeri kit but this was also recently re-boxed by Revell. It was also re-boxed by Tester's in the US but both that and the Italeri kit are now harder to find and not really worth seeking out since the Revell re-issue.

This is possible my favourite "modern" car ever.
The 993 Turbo comes close but if I could only have one car for the rest of my life, this wouldn't be a bad one to have...

Just as that first one I saw and fell in love with, I did this with the dual-tone interior. The car comes with what are commonly called "Daytona" seats that has these striped sections on it that make it perfect for having highlight colours in the otherwise all black interior. Dash-top was painted matt back to emulate the suede cover that the real car has.

This is one of only two kits made of this car and whereas the Fujimi kit is famous for it's tiny little accurate parts, this one is a little larger scaled; incorrect but easier to build and detail.

Body was straight forward Tamiya Italian Red.

And that's it.
From here, it was just small details then a very easy assembly.
